I was born Nicole Romanchak on October 12, 1951 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina (near Fayetteville). Raised from the age of one in Castleton, New York, I now live in East Schodack, New York. I'm married and have two daughters in their twenties. I work for the New York State Department of Health as a computer programmer administrating a web site.
A friend invited me to her farm to ride on Welsh ponies when I was 13, which started my love of horses and riding. Knowing basically nothing about the care of a horse, my mother and I attended an auction, and I found my first horse (a wonderful 5-year-old grulla Quarter Horse stallion name Preacher Blue, known as Beau) at the age of 16. Needless to say he did not remain a stallion for long. He lived to the age of 27 and had a very nice life.
I got away from riding while bringing up my daughters but started again in the summer of 1996 taking English riding lessons. I now own a wonderful chestnut Morgan named JDC's Just-in-Time (known as Justin or Justy) who I purchased from Diana Reed. I love to trail ride (Justin IS the perfect trail horse) and dabble in dressage (I don't think Justin cares for it). Riding has given me some new travel opportunities (I've ridden in Portugal,Ireland and Wyoming) and many wonderful friends.
Here are Helen Dansereau, myself, Gail Landrigan, and Mary Hogencamp enjoying an Irish romp.
