Eighty-six horses with their two legged partners braved the heat and humidity, (not to mention the weatherman's threats of thunderstorms).
But the clouds kept us from baking, there was a slight breeze and not a drop of rain fell...
They made 91 entry combinations which is average for the show. Amazingly 23 were people new to our show, which means about 2 dozen regulars were missing.
Break time...
Regretfully I have almost no pics for this year's show...
I saw a lot of cameras and some video being taken, so if anyone knows who got some shots
please ask them to share/loan some for posting here.
Watching a class...
The theme for this years trail class(2/3rds of horses entered) was the circus and judged by Kat Caprio. Entries had to come in under the pennant arch, then ride between the cages of vicious beasts.
At the far end was a circus ring to 'perform' in. A watchful giraffe gave many horses second thoughts, though the flamingo didn't faze them a bit.
Under the 'big top' horses were to mount the 'Pedestal' while the clown waved balloons. Most riders were worried about the balloons but most horses hardly noticed them.
Even two minis tackled the course, though the lion was bigger, they went boldly by him.
Here are the results as judged by Ken Adair...
